The question is:
If the Oakland Raiders call, will Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur answer?
Oakland is allegedly a member of the National Football League and Shurmur is the Eagles offensive coordinator, which is a complete misnomer because head coach Chip Kelly calls the plays.
According to Tim McManus of PhillyMag.com, Shurmur has been granted permission and will interview for the Raiders head coach opening, according to a league source..
The 49-year-old Shurmur had a 9-23 record as the Browns head coach, but it is hard to hold a coaching record with Cleveland against a head coach as the Browns have been as bad as the Raiders for ruining head coaching records.
What Shurmur has going for him is spending the last two years as the offensive coordinator for Kelly and the Eagles. First hand knowledge of the Eagles hurry up, high scoring offense would be an asset if the Raiders want to nurture the development of Derek Carr with an offensive mind at head coach, even if he only won nine games with the Browns.
