POST-SUPER BOWL, EAGLES ARE 19TH OUT OF 32 IN NFL RANKINGS!

By Max Harper

The Eagles became the flavor of the month in late November and all of December 2021 for their gutty march to the playoffs through a bunch of terrible teams that left them with a 9-8 record, good enough to get wiped out by Tom Brady and the Bucs in the wild card round.

Now that clearer heads are prevailing, NFL media lemmings have anointed other flavors the Rams, who beat the Bengals in Sunday night’s Super Bowl.

And here comes ESPN’s rankings, which has the Birds at 19 in the 32-team league, according to Tim McManus:

2021 record: 9-8

Offseason in three or fewer words: In building mode

That’s the term general manager Howie Roseman used at his end-of-season news conference; a step forward from 2021, which was described by team brass as a transition year.

The Eagles have 10 picks in April’s draft, including three first-rounders, and over $20 million in cap room to play with.

Those resources will be used to elevate the level of talent around the likes of Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert
