Mickey Moniak — like most Angels — had a monster day in the lopsided victory over the Rockies, going 5-for-5 with a homer, three doubles, four RBI and four runs scored.
After being hit by a pitch in the second inning, Moniak singled and scored on an RBI single by Shohei Ohtani early in the third inning.
He then capped off the 13-run uprising in the inning with a two-run blast off of Matt Carasiti.
He added a two-run double in the fourth that extended the lead to 20-0 and scored on David Fletcher’s three-run bomb.
Moniak also doubled and scored in the sixth inning — and again in the eighth, that time with the Angels’ franchise-record 25th run of the ballgame. With the career night, Moniak is now hitting .337/.366/.708 with seven long balls and 19 RBI on the season.
