PHILS’ STAR PAT NESHEK: IS HE A ONCE AND FUTURE MINNY TWIN?

By Sam Bush

Phillies’ reliever Pat Neshek pitched a successful second inning in last night’s All-Star game, and now the trade talk begins.

Former Twins reliever Neshek, now a two-time all-star since his release, is hearing rumors again as the rebuilding Phillies receive inquires on the pending free agent.

Could the Twins seek to reacquire the 36-year-old who grew up in Brooklyn Park?

“Minnesota? That’d be fun,” Neshek said. “My brother (Paul) is still up there, and he fills in on the (Target Field) grounds crew every once in a while.”

“It’s a lot of new management in Minnesota, so I don’t know what they’re looking for,” Neshek said. “Plus, they didn’t give my brother free parking. He does the ball-boy stuff, but they charge like 25 bucks for parking for all those guys.”
