The Phillies have signed first-round pick Bryson Stott to a deal valued at $3.9 million, which is under slot value for the No. 14 pick ($4.04 million).
With his all-around tools at shortstop, Stott has drawn comparisons to the Giants’ Brandon Crawford.
As a junior this season, Stott led UNLV in batting average (.356), on-base percentage (.486), slugging percentage (.599), OPS (1.085), hits (79), runs scored (65) and stolen bases (16). His 10 homers were also tied for the team lead.
