PHILS RANGER IS OKAY, BUT HERE’S HOW HE GOT HURT LAST NIGHT!

In case you are just waking up, Phillies ace Ranger Suarez hurt his hand while fielding a comebacker against the St. Louis Cardinals

Suarez knocked down a 106 mph line drive from Cardinals outfielder Alec Burleson and got the out at first base to end the top of the second inning. But Suarez was seen wincing in pain after making the play, which took the air out of Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pa.

The Phillies, who were leading 3-0 after two innings, pulled Suarez from the game to start the third. The comebacker hit the left-hander in his throwing hand.

With his scoreless two innings of work, Suarez lowered his ERA to an MLB-best 1.70 across 12 starts. The early Cy Young candidate has allowed just 43 hits and 14 earned runs over 74.0 innings of work this season.

Suarez was undefeated with a 9-0 record through his first 10 games before taking his first loss during his previous start against the Colorado Rockies.

Suarez allowed a season-high four earned runs in the 5-2 loss on May 26.
