PHILS SWEEP STREAK NOT SEEN SINCE DAYS OF GREAT ROY HALLADAY!

By Art Beitchman

The Phillies rolled into the All-Star break on quite a streak, sweeping out past nemesis Miami Marlins in a three-game set over the weekend.

They also nudged themselves past the Cardinals in the wild card race by one percentage point-— 533-.532 — at a respectable 49-43 record in the National League East.

Interim manager Rob Thomson continues his magic with this team, inserting Yairo Munoz at second base yesterday, and he launched a two-run HR to give the Phils 4-0 lead for the final score.

Beating the Marlins has become so rare, they last won a 3-game series versus the Fish in 2010, when Phis great Roy Halliday was king of the hill all those years ago, finally they have starting pitching that can sweep series again.
