The Phillies put two relievers, including rookie Bailey Falter, on the COVID list less than an hour before last night’s first pitch against the New York Yankees.

JD Hammer was the other reliever put on the list while the team took batting practice.

The move came hours after the Phillies put starting pitcher Zach Eflin on the 10-day injured list with tendinitis in his right knee.

It also forced the Phillies to scramble to fill out their roster, sending for reliever Mauricio Llovera and outfielder Mickey Moniak from Triple-A Allentown.

It’s the second time in nine days that Falter has been placed on the list. He was deemed a close contact to Alec Bohm, who tested positive for COVID-19.

The Phillies got back Aaron Nola after he was scratched from his last start for coming into contact with Bohm.
