Phillies great slugger Dick Allen will be on the HOF Golden Era committee ballot once again on December 5 when they meet again,.
Unfortunately, Allen passed away in 2020 and won’t be able to see this great honor, if they vote him in.
He will join Gil Hodges, Maury Wills, and Ken Boyer on the ballot for this prestigious achievement. These same voters will be the ones who denied him many times when he was alive, but something tells me Allen will get in now after all these years waiting to hear his name called.
Allen got many Phils fans into baseball as youths, and they will see their hero finally get the honor he so richly deserved, it would be much more gratifying if he could see this HOF day still alive.
