The Athletic is reporting that the Phillies have placed catcher J.T. Realmuto on the injured list with left wrist soreness, which means he is out at least a week.
Realmuto hasn’t played in. a week, but teams can backdate an IL stint by only three days.
He sustained the injury April 29 and missed two games.
Realmuto, 30, is slashing .294/.400/.886 in 35 games this season, with four homers and 17 RBIs. The two-time All-Star is in his third season with the Phillies, who have been playing with a short roster recently due to injuries.
