PHILS HAVE BEEN WOEFUL (2-22 WITH RISP VS CUBS), BREWERS WORSE!

By Sam Bush

The Phillies are doing everything in their power to blow the playoffs again, as they have done every season since 2011.

They were swept out by the Cubs in a three-game series and play the Nats a doubleheader today.

However, even though they have been woeful, the Brewers are too.

Milwaukee lost last night to Miami and still trail the Phils by a half-game for the last wild card playoff spot.

“I think we’re putting too much pressure on ourselves,” Segura said after the Phillies went 2-for-22 with runners in scoring position in the series.

“Thinking too much. When we get guys in scoring position, we’re trying to do too much — including myself. I feel like everybody here is trying so hard to get the job done and sometimes when you try too hard the result is not going to happen. We have to relax, enjoy the game, have fun. I know that’s hard when you’re losing.”
