The Red Sox were leading the Phillies 2-0 last night in Fenway, and instead of putting the Phillies away, starter Rick Porcello the Phillies to break his shutout.

“Over-rated,” were the chants at Fenway when Bryce Harper stepped up to the plate.

Then he smacked a hanging slider over the Green Monster for a two-run shot, his second career home run at Fenway.

The sound off the bat echoed through the park as Harper sprinted around the bases while his long hair bounced beneath his helmet.

“It was supposed to be backdoor,” Porcello said. “Got him out on the first at-bat and he put a good swing on it. It was a little bit lower than we’d like to throw it. Yeah, we were in a good, favorable count, and we had some options that we could have wasted some pitches, see if he’d chase, do some different things. We went with that and he got it. It was a good swing. Just need to be a better pitch.”
