PHILS GET FIRST DUB, SCHWARBS GETS FIRST JACK, 200TH CAREER!

By Sally Fahey

Kyle Schwarber blasted the 200th home run of his career, powering the Phillies to a 4-1 victory over the Yankees.

Schwarber didn’t wait long to do his damage in this one, crushing the first pitch that he saw from Domingo German in the opening inning for his historic 415-foot blast (104.4 mph EV).

That would wind up being all of the run support that Matt Strahm and company would need.

Schwarber also added a run-scoring single in the fifth inning, finishing the night 2-for-4. On the season, he’s hitting .143/.143/.286 with one long ball and three RBI to begin the season.
