The Phillies bullpen has been woeful.
The Phils have allowed 24 runs since the fourth inning of Tuesday’s loss to the Nats.
And yesterday the Phillies did something about it, sending Edubray Ramos to down to Lehigh Valley.
Ramos, 26, was brought in the close the door on Tuesday with the Phillies holding a 6-5 lead. He made it to within one strike of securing the win, but hung a 2-2 slider to Victor Robles, who promptly deposited it over the wall to tie things at 6-6, before the Nats eventually broke it open.
Ramos has appeared in seven games this season and has a 6.75 earned-run average over 6 2/3 innings.
A replacement should be be made before the Phils take on the Marlins tonight.
