PHILS BRAIN TRUST GOT THEM TO WORLD SERIES: EXTENSIONS TO ’25!

By Sam Bush

The Phillies have extended the contracts of Vice President and General Manager Sam Fuld and Assistant General Managers Ned Rice and Jorge Velandia. Phillies President of Baseball Operations David Dombrowski made the announcement Monday. Each extension will go through the 2025 season.

Fuld has been with the Phillies since November 2017 and just completed his second season as the club’s general manager. He was promoted to his current role on December 22, 2020. A 2004 graduate of Stanford University and a former major league outfielder, Fuld played parts of eight seasons (2007; 2009-15) for four teams: the Chicago Cubs, Tampa Bay Rays, Oakland Athletics and Minnesota Twins.

“The Phillies have been nothing short of first class in my time here,” said Fuld.

“I’m thrilled to continue to work for such a tremendous organization in a city that my family and I love so much. We have an exceptional group of players, staff and employees that I’m excited to grow with over the next few years.”
