Phils ace Zack Wheeler (shoulder) threw 42 pitches in a bullpen session yesterday.
“Out of the stretch I was a little behind, but as long as it’s coming out good, that’s all that matters to me right now,” he told reporters after the workout.
Wheeler will next advance to live batting practice and could then be cleared to make his Grapefruit League debut sometime next week.
He’s been delayed a bit due to a minor shoulder issue and a battle with the flu, but the 31-year-old right-hander is still aiming to make a start for the Phillies within the first couple series of the 2022 regular season.
