PHILLIES’ HERRERA HAS EARNED HIS PLACE AT THE TOP OF THE ORDER

By Sam Bush

Two and a half weeks into the Phillies season and we have a new man at the top of the batting order.

Odubel Herrera replaced Freddy Galvis as the Phillies’ leadoff man and coaxed a walk for the seventh straight game in Wednesday’s 5-4, 11-inning home win over the New York Mets.

The center fielder owns a .517 on-base percentage over that span, and he’s 9 for 21 with four doubles in six games against the Brewers.
