The Phillies have settled on a $2.55 million contract with second baseman Cesar Hernandez for the 2017 season, a source told MLB.com. The club has not confirmed the report.
Hernandez had asked for $2.8 million, while the Phils had countered at $2 million.
The 26-year-old Hernandez played 155 games for the Phillies last season, hitting .294/.371/.393 with six home runs, 39 RBIs, 17 steals and a Major League-leading 11 triples.
