There is nothing like revenge as a motivation in life.
The Washington Nationals are seeking revenge on the Phillies tonight at Citizens Bank Park. The last time these teams met was April 26-28 at Nationals Park, with the Phillies sweeping the three-game series on the strength of solid pitching. Tanner Roark will face Jeremy Hellickson (above) in the opener of the three-game set.
Roark tossed seven scoreless innings against the Phillies on April 28, but he didn’t get a decision in a 3-0 loss. This will be Roark’s first start at Citizens Bank Park this season.
Hellickson has gone at least six innings in three straight starts and hasn’t walked more than one batter in each of his past four outings. The last time Hellickson faced the Nationals was on April 27, when he allowed two hits over seven shutout frames.
