PARKEY ON FAILED EAGLES GAME-WINNING FG: IT’S ALL ON ME

By Sarah Berkowitz

Cody Parkey made no excuses after his missed field goal attempt cost the Eagles in a 26-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night.

He said his groin injury is fine. The snap, he said was “perfect”; so too was the hold.

“The snap and hold are always perfect,” the Eagles’ kicker said. “It was all my fault. I missed and I let the team down.”

Parkey was wide right from 44 yards out in a dome on an attempt that would have given the Eagles a 27-26 lead with 2:27 to play.

Asked if the groin injury that kept him out of the final two preseason games was a factor, the kicker said it wasn’t.

“I’m fine. I feel fine. I’m perfect,” he said. “I got plenty of work in preseason. I’m human. I missed a kick.”
