We’re 10 weeks into the pandemic pause, and here’s how Pennsylvania’s casinos are faring:
Sports betting revenue continued to tumble in April with all retail sportsbooks closed the entire month. Handle dropped to $46 million, which is approximately 13% of projected numbers for the month had the pandemic not closed casinos and shut down major sports.
Online sportsbooks have had to get creative, but the return of major live sports is on the horizon. UFC has returned and is getting plenty of action at sportsbooks.
NASCAR is also back, and wagering with it. A special charity golf match provided some additional entertainment and wagering action over the weekend.
Horse racing is beginning to open up at a number of additional states in the US, but unfortunately PA is not one of them – yet. For the latest on track opening updates and major race dates, see our live updated article here. And of course, horse betting remains a popular option and is available legally online in PA.
