Sixers guard Matisse Thybulle returned to the team after beating  COVID, and he immediately made his presence felt.

Especially on defense.

During the loss at Golden State. Thybulle had three steals and two blocks, including an impressive one on a 3-point shooter in the corner. His ability to make plays like that even made star guard Steph Curry think twice about challenging him.

“You see what you see,” said coach Doc Rivers.

“I think he’s athletic. He has great instincts. I would say that the No. 1 key for him is recovery time. He’s a quick jumper, Dennis Rodman-ish. There’s certain guys that can get off the floor quicker than other guys, and he’s one of those guys.”

“How many shot blocks have you seen with him with jump shots?” Rivers marveled. “That’s abnormal. You don’t see that. He gets one or two a game sometimes because of his recovery time.”
