Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Sunday that slugger Rhys Hoskins underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in December.
Hoskins had a meniscectomy performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache which was termed as a clean-up procedure to deal with the “wear and tear” that he had on his knee from the 2022 season.
While Hoskins has yet to appear in any spring training games, Thomson noted that he has been a full participant in camp and that he’ll debut in the first game after the team returns from Fort Myers.
It’s never good to hear that a player required knee surgery, but it doesn’t sound like this should be an issue for Hoskins.
