Aaron Nola went 6 2/3 innings without allowing a run to get the playoffs-clinching win over the Astros.
The right-hander took a perfect game into the seventh inning until Yordan Alvarez prevented the first perfect game since 2012 by Felix Hernandez.
It wasn’t a case of good luck either, as Nola really limited the hard contact and struck out nine in another impressive outing for the 29-year-old.
His regular season ends with a 3.25 ERA, and he should pitch over the weekend with the Phillies clinching a playoff spot.
