Rockets superstar James Harden is still the subject of trade rumors, most notably to the Sixers.
He has a good relationship with Sixers president Daryl Morey due to their time together in Houston and the thought is that he and Joel Embiid would help the Sixers win a title.
However, the team remains strong in the thought that they do not want to trade Ben Simmons or Embiid in order to get Harden. They want to see what the roster can do under coach Doc Rivers before making any drastic decisions such as that one.
Franchise legend Charles Barkley joined The Mike Missanelli show on 97.5 The Fanatic to give his thoughts on s potential Harden deal for the Sixers:
He’s the best 1-on-1 player I’ve ever seen. He’s not as good as Michael (Jordan) and Kobe (Bryant), but as far as being an offensive force, he’s the best I’ve ever seen. But are you going to change your whole offense, and play him like Mike D’Antoni played him? The Sixers won’t be better with James Harden.
That is always the big question when it comes to Harden and the Sixers. Do they believe that the 2018 league MVP will push them over the top? That is something that has to be discussed when a potential Simmons for Harden swap is brought up. Simmons is only 24-years old and he is already one of the top players in the game. Morey will be hard-pressed to give up a talent of his caliber at this point of his career.
