“Don’t take into account Vaitai’s feelings or his development,” Eliot Shorr-Parks writes. “Don’t worry about cap space if they need to sign someone, or draft picks if they get the chance to trade for a legitimate tackle. 

“In an ideal world, Vaitai is improved next week — against the Minnesota Vikings, perhaps the best defensive line in the NFL — and the issue is solved. Wentz continues to have a clean pocket, continues to develop, and the line issues were just a one week hiccup. 

“If Vaitai doesn’t, however, the Eagles need to pull the plug quickly. Go to plan B, and make sure this time, that plan works — no matter what it takes.  The goal of the entire season and the face of the franchise depends on it.”
