CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson reports NFL Disciplinary Officer Sue Robinson is expected to announce her decision on Deshaun Watson’s potential suspension “by some time Monday”.
This lines up with a previous report that said the ruling would be delivered early in the week.
ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio has stated that the Browns are bracing for an eight-game suspension.
If that turns out to be correct, Cleveland would likely stick with backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett as their starter until Watson returns. Brissett is your run-of-the-mill journeyman, averaging 6.4 yards per attempt at a 60 percent completion rate throughout his career. The Browns will hide him behind their prolific running game if he is forced to take the field.
