MLB LOCKOUT LIKELY TO EXTEND TO SPRING TRAINING!

By Sam Bush

Evan Drellich of The Athletic reports that MLB and MLB Players Association representatives are unlikely to discuss core economic issues at the epicenter of reaching a new Collective Bargaining Agreement until January.

The two sides have had some communication since owners imposed a lockout earlier this month and are scheduled to hold a small in-person meeting Thursday to discuss ancillary issues.

It remains unclear which side will wind up submitting proposals once negotiations on core economic issues resumes next month.

There likely needs to be a resolution in early February to avoid the lockout extending into spring training.
