Hard as it is to believe now, when Jeff Lurie (here with Birds legends Ron Jaworski at left and Steve Van Buren at right) bought the Eagles for $185 million in 1994 the fear was that, since he had no ties to Philly and had worked in Los Angeles as a movie producer, he had his sights on moving the team to L. A., where they are building a new stadium now in hopes of enticing pro football back.
