The Sixers said sharpshooter Nik Stauskas was probable for tonight’s home opener against the Jazz, but coach Brett Brown didn’t seem as optimistic.
He said that Stauskas might play but “that’s still up in the air.”
With Stauskas and Robert Covington out of the season opener, the Sixers played point guards T.J. McConnell and Isaiah Canaan together quite a bit with Canaan at the shooting guard spot.
Brown admitted that the lack of available players for the early part of the season had him feeling a bit unprepared.
“I felt naked, I didn’t feel prepared at all,” Brown said. “I felt as less prepared as I’ve ever felt coaching an opening game because I didn’t have the opportunity to coach our guys to where you have some rhythm to what you’re doing offensively.”
