B.J. Johnson scored 19 points and La Salle beat Fordham 66-54 in a regular season finale for both teams yesterday.
The win snaps a three-game slide for the Explorers (15-14, 9-9) and positions them as the No. 7 seed in the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament.
Jordan Price (above) and Demetrius Henry sank back-to-back jumpers to put the Explorers on top for good late in the first half and they had a 25-22 edge at the break.
Cleon Roberts hit a pair of 3-pointers early in the second half and Henry followed that with a dunk to boost La Salle’s lead to 42-33 with 13:16 to play. Jumpers by Price and Johnson followed to make it 46-33 with 10:47 left and the Explorers led by double figures the rest of the way.
Roberts finished with 11 points and Price added 10 points and nine rebounds.
