The Flyers are on a bit of a roll, finishing a successful West Coast roadie and knocking off the Coyotes the other night at the Wells.
And now for the doctor’s report:
James van Riemsdyk, out since Oct. 6 with a lower-body injury, skated a full session yesterday and appears to be about a week or so away from a return to action.
“It’s just a matter of getting up to speed,″ he said after the workout. “I’ve been working (off ice) to stay in the best shape I can.″
Van Riemsdyk signed a five-year, $35-million free agent contract and expectations were high. Then he suffered the injury in a Oct. 6 game at Colorado and everything came to a screeching halt.
How frustrating, then, has it been to just sit and watch?
“It seems like a longer summer, that’s for sure,″ he said. “Stuff like this happens all the time, so there’s nothing they can do about it. You just have to have a good attitude. Work hard so that when you’re ready to go back in there, you’re at full speed.″
