J.T. Realmuto and Rhys Hoskins smoked two-run doubles, driving in four runs to give the Phillies the 7-5 lead over the Nats in the 9th.
Trailing 5-3 and down to the team’s final strike, Realmuto lined a game-tying two-run double into the right-center field gap. Hoskins followed two batters later with a two-run double of his own to put the Phils ahead.
“We’ve got to come up with the big hits. You’ve got to have a couple magical moments,” Hoskins said. “I don’t think that we’re done with those. I think throughout the rest of the year, we probably are going to find ourselves in situations in games that are going to be pretty big.”
