JOJO WAS OUT, SO MELTON STARTED: 13, 6, 5, 5 IN 31 MINUTES!

By Jerry Wein

De’Anthony Melton started against the Raptors and put up 13 points, six assists, five rebounds, five steals and one triple in 31 minutes.

Coming into Friday, Melton was averaging 18.8 minutes despite hitting 51% from the field, 42% from deep and 100% from the line.

Joel Embiid was rested on the front end of the back-to-back which explains the new role for Melton, but maybe he gave coach Doc Rivers something to think about this evening.

Let’s see if he can get his minutes closer to the mid-20s because that will certainly be enough for standard-league value.
