JOJO DRAINS 33 IN 28 MINS — NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO START IN STARS!?

By Ben Sullivan

Joel Embiid posted 33 points (10-of-18 FGs, 11-of-13 FTs), 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two 3-pointers in the Sixers 137-125 win over the Spurs, playing 28 minutes.

Embiid still has some soreness in his left foot, but it hasn’t been severe enough to keep him out of games.

He’s scored 30 points or more in three of his last four and 10 of his last 13 games.

The recent scoring run has helped push Embiid into the top-5 in 9-cat, per-game value, and he is considered one of the betting favorites for MVP honors.

Whether or not Embiid wins the award after finishing second two years in a row remains to be seen, but he continues to add to his case.
