SANDUSKY, WHO WON’T GO AWAY, SEEKS REVERSAL OF CONVICTIONS

By Peter Gleason

Like a bad penny, the awful Jerry Sandusky just won’t go away.

Sandusky is expected to return to court today as the former Penn State assistant football coach’s legal team seeks to overturn his convictions for child sexual abuse.

Judge John Cleland will hear arguments at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte from both prosecutors and Sandusky’s lawyers, according to the Associated Press. Sandusky, 72, was convicted of 45 counts of child sexual abuse in 2012 and currently serving 30 to 60 years in prison.

Among the areas Sandusky’s lawyers are pursuing as grounds for a new trial are leaks that came from the secret grand jury convened in the case.
