JERRY JONES TEEING UP DREADED COWBOYS FOR SALE TO SAUDIS?

By Max Harper

FOX Sports 1’s Craig Carton has suggested that Jerry Jones might be looking to sell the Cowboys to investors from Saudi Arabia:

“I think they’re going to sell the team. I would not be surprised if we start hearing rumors about Jerry Jones courting hedge funds from places like Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi in search of the biggest possible payout for a North American sports franchise.”

Carton says that the Cowboys are finances and shedding salaries, hinting at a lack of interest from the Jones family in maintaining a competitive team.

“They’re not acting like a family that is trying to win,” Carton explained.

“I think Jerry, who is over 80, prefers the idea of leaving his family with a significant financial inheritance rather than a struggling football team.”

This speculation comes on the heels of Jerry Jones’s own comments earlier this year asserting that the Cowboys were “all-in” on pursuing success. Yet, actions—or the lack thereof—have spoken louder than words.
