Penn State has received a verbal commitment from four-star 2022 defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton.
Getting Dennis-Sutton (6-5/250) is a huge win for coach James Franklin and his staff on the recruiting trail, as the All-American Bowl participant is considered the ninth defensive end and No. 50 overall prospect in the country from the 2022 prep cycle.
When asked about the motivation behind his decision to attend Penn State, he said, “As far as Coach Franklin, I don’t talk to any head coach as much as I talk to Coach Franklin. He takes pride in talking to the players. Not a lot of the other head coaches do that, you talk to their position coach. I like everything here. The campus is beautiful. You get a lot of time to workout without a lot of distractions.”
Dennis-Sutton also cites PSU’s track record developing edge rushers Yetur Gross-Matos and Jayson Oweh as a major influence as well. He boasts prototype length and athleticism coupled with the requisite lower body flexibility to run the loop on the outside. He should be an immediate contributor for the Nittany Lions starting in 2022.
