Poor, poor Ben Simmons.
He melted like a Rita’s Water Ice in the June 7-game series against the Hawks.
His coach and teammate politely suggested that he bore some of the blame because, after all, he played like a dog.
And now he can’t take the heat so he wants out.
Fearing the prospect of free throws (he missed 45 in 7 playoff games against the Hawks, making just 15, and shot 34.2% in 10 games,) Simmons shot just three times in the seven fourth quarters of the series against the Hawks, and he didn’t shoot at all in five games, including the last four in a row.
