Benching Carson Wentz as the No. 3 quarterback simply perpetuates the mistakes and mismanagement by the Eagles this year. Coach Doug Pederson is making things worse with his unnecessary preseason proclamation that “if we had to play this week, Carson would be down. He’d be the third quarterback. He’d be deactivated. That’s probably the direction we’re heading.”
But the primary blame goes to Eagles GM Howie Roseman for instigating this mess, along with owner Jeffrey Lurie if the rumblings are true that he was the driving force behind the decision to re-sign Bradford. Not a good omen for the Eagles post-Andy Reid and Chip Kelly if indeed the owner is meddling in personnel.
