IF BARWIN SPIES CAM NEWTON, EAGLES WILL BEAT PANTHERS AGAIN

By Harry Allison

Everyone in Philly has a view of what the Eagles will do Sunday night when they tangle with the Panthers in Carolina.

Of course, there is a revenge motive since the Birds beat down the Panthers 45-21 last season at the Linc.

Here’s what Panthers beat writer Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer thinks, courtesy of NJ.com:

I think Carolina matches up better with Seattle [whom the Panthers beat last Sunday] than Philadelphia.

The Eagles’ front seven embarrassed the Panthers last year, sacking Newton nine times. Granted, Newton’s healthy and the line’s better. But I think using Connor Barwin as a spy again could pay dividends for the Eagles.

I’m also curious to see how the Panthers defend Jordan Matthews, who ran untouched through the secondary for most of that game last year.

All that said, I can’t see Sam Bradford doing much against the Panthers’ defense.
