HURTS WAS A LITTLE RUSTY BUT PUT UP 20-OF-35 FOR 229 YARDS

By Wendy Burke

Jalen Hurts completed 20-of-35 attempts for 229 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception, adding 13 yards on nine carries in the Eagles’ 22-16, Week 18 win over the Giants.

Hurts found A.J. Brown deep for 35 and 37-yard receptions. He also hit DeVonta Smith for a TD, but that was called back because of a holding penalty.

It wasn’t a strong day for Hurts overall, but the Eagles called a more conservative game than usual, which makes sense given that Hurts was nursing a shoulder injury.

Critically, the Eagles earned a bye week with their Week 18 win. When Jalen Hurts hosts his first playoff game, he will be an elite quarterback play, despite looking uninspiring this week.
