Eric Rowe, a rookie, stepped in at cornerback when Nolan Carroll broke his ankle on Thanksgiving. He gave up some receptions, but Rowe played well in coverage, especially on New England’s final series. when quarterback Tom Brady launched a deep ball on the first play after Kenjon Barner fumbled with 1:02 left to play.
Rowe ran stride for stride with Brandon LaFell and the ball fell incomplete. He finished with three tackles, all of them of the sure-handed variety.
