HOW 8-0 RANGER SUAREZ COMPARES TO THE GREAT STEVE CARLTON!

By Art Beitchman

Phillies starter Ranger Suarez has been throwing lights out baseball since the season started:

He won his 8th game against the Mets in terribly rainy conditions with not his best stuff.

And he’s in the Cy Young conversation!

Suarez’ stats the first six weeks of the season are 8-0 with a 1.37 ERA in 59 innings pitched.

He is the first left handed pitcher to match Hall of Famer Steve Carlton who did the same in his Cy Young award season of 1972.

That is amazing to see how Suarez has jumped his game up from a season ago with over 4 months still to be played.
