Leave it to the ever-alert Mark Eckel of NJ.com to come up with the following nugget:
Marcus Mariota, the object of the affection of Eagles Supreme Leader Chip Kelly, Mike Missanelli and Sal Paolantonio, was drated No. 2 by the Tennessee Titans and is presently one of only two draftees who are unsigned!
Read Eckel:
Kelly, who coached Mariota at Oregon, used the analogy of driving through the nice neighborhood but the houses being too expensive the night of the first round of the draft?
What if he could get one of those expensive houses on a foreclosure? We already know how Kelly feels about paying rent. Or maybe he was saving that Old City apartment for his new city quarterback?
It’s just really strange that the most talked about player before the draft is going to be one of the last, if not the last player signed.
