HERRERA’S WALK-OFF RBI SINGLE GIVES PHILLIES 5-4 WIN IN 10

The Phillies pulled out a 5-4 win in 10 innings Wednesday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park to improve their record to 5-1 since the All-Star break.

Domonic Brown, who had his first three-hit game of the season, scored the winning run on a walk-off single on an 11-pitch at-bat by pinch-hitter Odubel Herrera after advancing to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Carlos Ruiz in which the lead runner could have been thrown out.

Earlier, the Phillies took a 4-3 lead in the sixth when first baseman James Loney allowed a bases-loaded, one-out grounder go through his legs for one of the Rays’ three errors.

The Phils took two of three from the Rays after sweeping the Miami Marlins last weekend, giving them two series wins in a row for the first time this season.
