HERE’S WHY SIXERS AND NBA WILL FINISH SEASON AND HAVE PLAYOFFS!

By Peter Brennan

You should expect the NBA to finish its season and complete the playoffs.

So says ESPN Insider Brian Windhorst:

“When it comes to the time frame in the league, I know people are talking about July or August, as far as I’m concerned, when you get down to it, the last thing the NBA wants to do is cancel the playoffs,” Windhorst said on The Hoop Collective Podcast.

“They will wait until, in my view, the last possible second to do that. Whether or not they have to play a series of single-elimination games, they will not want to do that.”

After suspending the season last week, NBA owners want to resume the season in July or perhaps even August if they have to do it. First, though, we have to wait for the coronavirus pandemic to end.

The CDC is recommending no large gathers of 50 or more people for the next two months.

The 2011-12 lockout season began on Christmas. There has been talk that the 2020-21 NBA season could begin in December, but first the league has to figure out how it’s going to finish the current campaign.
