Kyle Schwarber crushed a three-run homer on Saturday night, powering the United States to a 6-2 victory over Great Britain in the World Baseball Classic.
The 30-year-old slugger victimized right-hander Ryan Long for his 428-foot blast — extending his squad’s lead to 5-1. He also drew a pair of walks in the contest, finishing the night 1-for-3. Schwarber batted fifth in a star-studded American lineup on Saturday night and served as the club’s designated hitter.
