Marcus Mariota sure sounds like he would prefer to play for the Eagles and his former Oregon coach, Chip Kelly.
“It would be an awesome opportunity,” Mariota told Steve Mariucci on the NFL Network recently..
Kelly runs a similiar offense in the NFL that he did during his time at Oregon. While there are differences, a major similarity is that Kelly likes his quarterback to operate out of the shotgun, which Mariota did the majority of the time at Oregon.
“Of course,” Mariota said when asked if going to the Eagles would make it easier to succeed in the NFL. “If you are able to know what is ahead of you, know what system or whatever team that you are apart of, it will make the transition easier for you, instead of kind of going into something unfamiliar and new.”
