HERE’S HOW RED-HOT PHILS CAN HOST A PLAYOFF SERIES AT CBP!

By Art Beitchman

The Phillies just keep piling up wins behind ace Zack Wheeler, who last night beat the Miami Marlins 4-1, extending the winning streak to 6 games and 11 out of the last 12, all without NL MVP Bryce Harper!

Beating below-.500 teams has been a real problem the last two years or so, but the 2022 Phils have solved it.

They start by getting these teams down, then adding on runs.

They currently are in position for the 2nd wild card playoff spot in the National League, 1 game in front of the Padres, 3 behind the Braves.

If they can catch and surpass Atlanta for No. 1 they can host a playoff series in Citizens Bank Park, and have a much better chance of advancing.

Starting pitching has been excellent.

And, suddenly the bullpen is solid with recently acquired reliever David Robertson locking down the 8th inning last night versus the Marlins, then having flamethrower Seranthony Dominguez handling the 9th for the save, his 7th in 8 opportunities this season.
